The Italian ports of Capri, Porto Cervo and Portofino lead the top ten ranking. It is also true that rates can vary drastically during the high season, especially in the South of France like in the marines of Monaco, Saint Tropez or Cannes.
Yacht owners with boats with a length of over 70 metres, can pay up to 15,000€ to be able to anchor their boat in the Marina of Monaco and for example, up to 9,000€ in the Yas Marina during the Grand Prix of Formula
1. Capri, Italy

High season: The Rolex Capri Sailing Week (May)
Capri is an island located between mountains on the Almafi Coast and is officially the most expensive port/marina in the world, being also one of the most luxurious sailing destinations in the Medietrranean. A dock reservation at the marina must be done several months in advance if you want to enjoy Capri during the high season. Italian brands like Prada, Gucci, Versace or Ferragamo have a boutique in Capri due to the exclusive tourism that this part of Italy welcomes. Celebrities such as Harrison Ford, Tom Cruise, Julia Roberts and Keanu Reeves have been seen on the island during their vacation.
2. Porto Cervo, Sardinia, Italy
The average price to anchor your super yacht on a daily basis is 2,500€.

During the high season the most expensive periods are: the Deluxe Fair in June, Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup Regatta in September.
The dazzling Porto Cervo, on the Emerald Coast was founded by Aga Khan in the 60´s. During the summer, this is the place where the Italian jet-set spend their vacation while sailing and enjoying the beutiful landscape and coves. We can also find celebrities like Kate Moss, the actress Tara Reid and actors like Christian Slater and Denzel Washington spending their holidays in Porto Cervo.
The daily mooring fee at the exclusive Emerald Coast Yacht Club can reach over 2500€ but it always depends on the yearly season. An annual mooring fee for a yacht of 40 meters length can reach up to 11,500€.
3. Portofino, Liguria, Italy

The most expensive period during the high season is: the Portofino Rolex Trophy in May.
Portofino, located on the famous Italian Blue Coast ranks on the top ten most discrete ports worldwide. Portofino and its town are surrounded by wild hills, a deep and green nature and beautiful coves. Even though it was a small fishing village, this port has become the favorite place for European royalty and movie stars for sailing and spending their vacation from spring to autumn.
Due to the lack of moorings, reservations at least several months in advance are highly recommended.
4. Magna Ibiza, Spain

The Magna Marina located in the port of Ibiza is considered one of the most exclusive sports marinas in the world due to its location and facilities. Magna Ibiza is within a short walk away from the Casino and the nightclub Pacha, famous for being one of the most exclusive in the world. Ibiza welcomes every summer a lot of tourists and yacht charter fans together with people that can afford super yachts. During the high season the Magna Ibiza usually charges additional services for their VIP sailors.
5. St Tropez, France

Most expensive periods during high season: Giraglia Rolex Cup in June and International Polo Cup in July.
St Tropez is located on the famous and beautiful French Blue Coast has been the favourite holiday destination for celebrities, models, millionaires and jetsetters and has become over the years an icon of luxury and sophistication since it was discovered by Brigitte Bardot back in the 50´s. Even if the town of St Tropez offers amazing restaurants, shops and a luxury port, this area still has the old charm of the French Provence and the small towns on the Riviera.
Like many other ports in the Mediterranean coast, the marina of St. Tropez does not accept yachts with a length over 70 metres. Mega yachts must anchor outside the marina close to the town.
6. Port Hercules, Monaco

Most expensive period during high season: the Rally of Monte Carlo in January, Monaco Grand Prix in May and the Monaco Yacht Show in September.
The Principality of Monaco has the most millionaires per capita in the world. Not surprisingly, this fact is reflected upon the luxury yachts moored in the marina of this tiny principality, located close to Nice on the French Riviera.
Although the average price to anchor a super yacht of 70m is lower than in other places such as Saint Tropez and Porto Cervo, mooring rates are very high during the Grand Prix and very difficult to get.
7. Miami Beach, Florida

The most expensive period during the high season is: Art Basel Miami Beach in December and the Miami Boat Show in February
The ultra modern marina located in the Biscayne Bay of Miami Beach, is one of the best in the world. It offers space for 400 boats and 45 super yachts. Miami Beach Marina is known in the yacht world for its excellent facilities that offer, from an Olympic-size pool to 24-hour concierge services.
The annual mooring rates are available only in private.
8. Cannes, French Riviera

The most expensive period during the high season: Cannes Film Festival in May.
If you try to book a berth at the port of Cannes during the Film Festival you will find yourself on the waiting list for at least one year, despite last minute cancellations that can also be possible. The fact is that the Festival’s red carpet is only a ten-minute walk from the marina, so it is a real treat to dock there.
It is certainly one of the biggest ports in the Mediterranean Sea, with nearly 2,000 berths.
9. Port of Gustavia, St Barts

The most expensive dates during the year are: Christmas and New Year
In St. Barts it is almost impossible to make a reservation during the high season. Celebrities and rich people around the world choose this port to spend their sailing vacation due to the amazing atmosphere of the area, the facilities and the amazing landscapes.
10. Yas Marina, Abu Dhabi

The most expensive period during the year is: the Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi in November.
Located next to the Formula 1 circuit in the city of Abu Dhabi, the Yas Marina has been designed as the Middle East’ comeback to Monaco. The Yas Marina is on the artificial island of Yas, still under construction, but if all goes as planned, it will be surrounded by luxury beachfront properties and some of the tallest skyscrapers. The development of this luxury port includes a Ferrari theme park, a water park, and residential areas with houses, hotels and private beaches.
