For the summer of 2014 the ever impressive Jeanneau boatyard has added a flagship yacht to its extensive and classy range: the Jeanneau 64. Under governance by the Beneteau group, Jeanneau have been building all manner of yachts for for all manner of sailors since 1957, creating a brand trust unlike many others. The french boatyard prides themselves with designing boats with sailing at the forefront of the planning. This may seem like an obvious choice when building a yacht however they manage to create fast, stable and exciting boats that don’t just sail well but also come equipped with the latest luxurious comforts; a balance sometimes sacrificed.
The new Jeanneau 64 is no exception to this rule due to a collaboration between Philippe Briand and Andrew Winch that makes use of an innovative hull shape to provide maximum inside space whilst ensuring that the sailing is “secure, fast and enjoyable”. All aspects of sailing are equally valued by Jeanneau and this clearly shows to their clients with huge popularity all over the world. (And especially here at aBoatTime). They know the importance of having spacious areas to relax with friends and family and enough space in the galley so as not to compromise on the food you eat as well as plenty of sunbathing space for those moments when you just want to do nothing at all.
Jeanneau also know that a boat is a very personal thing to buy so there is a seemingly endless list of options to choose from with anywhere between 3 and 6 cabins including 2 different master suite configurations and thousands of different fabric combinations available. Above and below deck the Jeanneau 64 provides plenty of living and entertaining space. In the salon you will find a large dining area and options for extra comfortable seating areas depending on your preferences. This is all catered for by a large kitchen with plenty of space for you or a crew to prepare food, including a full sized dishwasher. Long, panoramic windows also flood light into the whole area creating yet more feeling of space. Above deck the theme continues with clever management of the available areas creating a large seating area at the rear of the boat, separate from the cockpit as well as an open expanse of smooth deck on the bow which we think would be just perfect for sunbathing!
