During the time of the Olympic Games, London will host the largest number of yachts ever assembled in the capital under the supervision of MGMT.
MGMT – the London headquartered consulting company specializing in yacht management is responsible for coordinating the berthing of superyachts and providing full service to all people who have booked berth in the Royal Docks, St. Catherine’s Docks, Canary Wharf, Portland Port and the Thames itself.
Mark Upton, the director of MGMT, said “There’s so much happening. We’re expecting 20 superyachts over 35 metres.” The services offered by the company are very diverse and not limited merely to the berthing of vessels. The services also include the transfer to Olympic venues in boats, renting helicopters and private jets, on board services like a security and catering, available 24 hours a day.
Similarly, for those who do not own a boat of this kind, there is the possibility of hiring premium packages that include rental of a yacht, moored in a prime location (with concierge service) and tickets for major competitions of the Olympic Games including the opening and closing ceremonies.
Almost all the boats that are coming to London are private yachts since most of the charter yacht owners want to keep their yachts working in the Mediterranean coast and can’t afford to lose the time it takes to get here.
