Supported by the City of Santander and the Government of Cantabria, the first edition of the Cantabria Boat Show will take place in Santander, in the Exhibition and Congress Palace from 22nd to 24th of June.
The main goal of this event is to promote and reactivate the marine industry and tourism in the region, based primarily on the three most important events that will take place in Cantabria in the near future: Sailing World Championships 2014, the commercialization of the recently opened port of Laredo, and the development of the waterfront area of Santander.
In order to make the fair entertaining for the public, it is planned to promote the nautical and maritime customs and traditions of the Cantabrian coast through different kind of activities, like sport, gastronomy, fashion, art and culture.
Besides the exhibition of nautical equipment, located in the central hall, attendees can also visit an exhibition of the High Performance Center (CAR) and so-called “Area 50” exposition. This area is shared by companies, which offer different sea and coastal products and services at reduced prices, specialized shops, that sell clothing related to the sea and sailing, as well as various nautical clubs, federations and insurance companies of the maritime sector.
To engage all kind of audience, a special program was worked out, offering a wide choice of activities such as exhibitions, lectures, food tasting events, contests, parades and more.
The fair was opened yesterday, June 21, but the doors are opened for public from June 22. No doubt, the First Cantabria Boat Show is a wonderful event inviting people to get to know Cantabria, its coastline and everything it has in offer for the sailing world in general.
